Glory Haven's Outreach Ministry
written by Nancy Coles How many of us have been fortunate enough to have someone faithfully serving at our side? Whether it's family, friends, or a loved one, we all rely on people we can trust. Of course, no one is perfect, we all make mistakes. But constant faithfulness is a consistant source of encouragement and motivation. Faith and trust go hand in hand because one builds up the other. Without one, it's impossible to have the other. Truthfulness, honesty, and communication are also virtues of trustworthiness. How many times did Paul speak of his faithful servants (Eph 6:21-22, Col. 4:7-9) because he knew they were to be trusted to spread the Word of God and worthy of his own trust? Many of us hold secrets, hide behind masks of deceit, or keep things to ourselves. we do these things for fear of being accepted by those around us. We try to build a wall of perfection that lacks a strong foundation based on the truth because this life is controled by sin. God of course cannot come near it. And soon this life will fail us. Becoming trustworthy is a choice. Being faithful and trustworthy is an inner quality in life that shows Christian maturity. That shows character and Christ living in us. Walking in the will of God strengthens your ability to become a person of integrity. Someone who will be faithful and, '...will stand firm in the Will of God, mature, and fully assured...' - Col. 4:12-13 Are you trustworthy in everything? Ask yourself this...
How do I become trustworthy? If you have lost credibility in any relationship, marriage, or job, admit first your mistakes and truly seek a desire to change. Your life can be rebuilt; it takes time, effort, and perserverence. Don't defend yourself when you have been wrong, don't blame others for your mistakes, and don't let emotions rule your temper. It is better to remain quiet then lash out of emotion. If you are failing in a relationship or marriage because of poor communication then present your problem clearly. Misinterpretation breeds mistrust. Let God's faithfulness give you strength for it is written, 'May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it.' - 1 Thess. 5:23-24 Becoming Pure | Balance In Our Lives | Kindness; Having A Gentle And Quiet Spirit Loving As God Loves | Teaching And Being Teachable How We Connect With Others | Love Conquers All Lanterns Of Integrity; Being The Best That We Can Be |
